About The Pursuit Zone

Paul SchmidmedWhat do you call the area outside of the comfort zone?  It’s called The Pursuit Zone.  The idea behind The Pursuit Zone is to interview people that dream big, get out of their comfort zones, and accomplish ambitious pursuits.

When asked to describe the website with keywords I wrote down these seven:

  • Curiosity
  • Adventure
  • Ambition
  • Strength
  • Optimism
  • Focus
  • Perseverance

I look for people that have a positive and interesting story to tell.  It can be travelers, adventure athletes, authors, filmmakers, or volunteers in remote parts of the world.  These are just a few of many examples.

The Pursuit Zone serves to inspire and challenge people to escape their comfort zones by combining their dreams and ambition with a healthy dose of pursuit.

About Paul Schmid

I was born in the early 70s so I’m part of the great generation X, the last generation to remember what it was like before the world wide web. Even though I have two Engineering degrees which I use to earn a living, I really consider myself a content creator. My day job doesn’t provide the opportunity to be creative in the way I would like so I created The Pursuit Zone and its podcast to fill that creative void.

I also like to call myself an online entrepreneur since I have two side hustles going around online video training. I try not to consume too much content because it hampers my ability to produce, but I do like to watch the occasional video about #tinyhouses, #vanlife, and #adventuretravel.

I also love music and don’t listen to it nearly as much as I should. I’m a big fan of bands like Rush, Yes, Jethro Tull, The Who, Led Zeppelin and the list goes on an on. When I want to get some work done you’ll often find me listening to Brazilian music.
